I fell in love with wine over a long-lasting, casual lunch one Sunday while visiting with friends in Italy. That first sip offered more layers of flavor than I'd expected, and having had it utterly transformed the rest of the meal. The taste of tomatoes in the pasta sauce brightened. The basil danced across my tongue instead of simply strolling across my palate. And with the next sip of wine? I remembered savoring raspberries I picked as a young girl from my neighbors' back yard.
