I resisted owning a smartphone for a long time. I had my reasons, many of which revolved around not allowing the complications of using new or rapidly changing technology to invade my “off” time. But, I got over that about a year and a half ago. I joined many others and became an iPhone user, though I’m certainly not as proselytizing about it as some people are. One feature I have never used is FaceTime. And, though I have been in numerous video conferences, I have never liked them. Being on camera, even when the focus was not on me, was disconcerting.
