Thanks for the kind write-up, Jenny! It's worth mentioning that your Mike's 365 project (http://www.mikerussellfoto.com/blog/category/365) is what inspired me to try my hand at it this year.

I really need to do an updated self-portrait one of these days; I think that one is probably four years old at this point! (Also, has it *really* been almost five years since that road trip? And three since my last trip to Seattle? Egad!)

My photgrapher husband and I watched as much as we could of the live stream when we weren't on our way to and from the Oyster Roast Shoot.

Hi, Jay,

Thanks for sharing that link as well as your own reactions. I agree with your sentiment, "Looking for an idea for taking your sweetie out on a date? Go to a TED conference. Ideas are hot! Follow up the conference with a nice dinner, in a quiet romantic place, and prepare to have some great conversation. TED talks will inspire, enlighten, and fill you with hope."

My husband and I processed our experiences, including feeling inspired to put more effort into some creative endeavors, at Tilth that evening.

Hi Jenny,

My wife and I attended the TEDxRainier event. It was fantastic. My wife sketched "thought clouds" as the presenters talked. I posted them here: http://8020vision.com/2011/11/13/tedxrainier-2011-conference/

Gorgeous! I have wanted to see Whales for a while. Friends in Seattle talk often about the San Juan islands. I have to get there, it looks so beautiful.
